This month Mixt Creations is in the spotlight at OZ Planten. How does this producer of top-quality arrangements ensure that fine-meshed orders are delivered to OZ Planten via the internal routes of the auction within 20 minutes? Read more about this impressive process below.
We get the tour from owner Ton Kleijberg and Mathijs van der Knaap, sales. Mixt Creations is located in the Royal FloraHolland auction building, so we only have to cross the street for our visit. That is also the biggest advantage of this location, Ton: “We are close to our customers, which offers convenience and speed. We can easily visit our customers to present new concepts, and in addition, all orders can be delivered very fast because we use the auction's internal logistics network”. Now that customer visits are not possible due to corona, the grower has come up with a creative solution to bring the new concepts to the attention. Mathijs records a weekly video presentation that he sends to customers for inspiration.
The arrangements of Mixt Creations are devised by Ton and colleague Jolanda. There are about 1200 items per season that are released under the name Plant Creations, which is also one of the strengths of the company. The products can be offered very customer-oriented, and one thing is the same for all products: all arrangements are of high quality. This applies to both the substrate (pots) and the plants. The pots are carefully selected by their quality and only purchased from reliable suppliers who work with good materials. The same applies to the plants, which are carefully selected from the growers and processed in the arrangements within 48 hours.
The package assortment offers a wide range in the current green 'urban jungle' trend with monstera, ficus, cacti and succulents, but also many colourful planters with flowering plants such as kalanchoe, phalaenopsis, spathiphyllum and anthurium can be ordered.
In addition to arrangements, Mixt Creations also offers a green mix, with strong houseplants of pot sizes 9, 12 and 17 cm. The green mix is supplied in the recognizable FSC cardboard Plant Creations tray.
All Plant Creations concepts are unique. The pots are exclusively made for the grower, so Mixt Creations offers a distinctive range. In the "trend room" choices are made for the various themes and accompanying pots, this creative space is therefore full of mood boards and samples of pots can be found everywhere you look. In addition to the production area where a permanent team is worked, there is also a photo studio where atmospheric images are made.
The strength of Plant Creations lies in the combination of unique and high-quality concepts that can be purchased in small editions. Partly because of this, Mixt Creations has been a regular and reliable supplier of OZ Planten for many years.
The grower works according to a sustainable method, so they only buy plants from suppliers who are MPS certified. In addition, trays are being used multiple times by mutual agreement and their own biodegradable tray has been developed. Thanks to these and other initiatives, the grower is MPS Florimark GTP certified.
