On a rainy day, we visited Vredebest nursery, but its colorful assortment lifted the atmosphere. Grower Henrik Hak shared a wealth of fascinating information about his extensive collection of conifers with us. Vredebest is well-known for its blue pots, but that will change next year.
An Abundance of Conifers
Vredebest offers a diverse range of conifers, including upright, spherical, bushy, and low-growing varieties. With the upcoming holidays, Vredebest's assortment is indispensable. For instance, the Picea Glauca Conica is a favorite during the festive season, and the conifer is equally essential. For the holidays, Vredebest Nursery also provides their products with covers, stakes, and baskets. Additionally, as a customer, you can add your own pottery for a personal touch. The mix is a popular product, and consumers have plenty of choices. These beautiful plants are grown on an area of 6.5 hectares.
Fresh Garden Plants Straight from the Field
All the conifers from the grower are of high quality and exceptionally fresh, as they are harvested daily from the field. Every available space on the cart is used for transportation. The busiest months are from October to early December, with Elwoodii, Picea Glauca Conica, and Juniperis Stricta as bestsellers, creating a festive ambiance during the holidays.
From Blue to Gray Pots
The famous blue pots, currently made from 98% reusable plastic, will be replaced with gray pots starting next year, with a focus on environmental considerations. Rainwater and fertilization water are also collected and reused, and peat usage is minimized as much as possible. What's also noteworthy is that the nursery no longer uses labels because Henrik Hak believes that the product itself is so beautiful it doesn't need a photo. All the necessary information is printed on the pot, including the plant passport.
