An innovative nursery in high-end hydrangeas
Grower of the month (05/2024): The Mastergrowers

The Mastergrowers is where the love of craftsmanship, years of experience and innovation come together. The Mastergrowers was created several years ago from a merger between nurseries Dijk van Dijk and De Bonfut, with the aim of becoming a nursery that focuses on offering a total assortment of high-end indoor hydrangeas.

Progress through breeding
To achieve high quality hydrangeas, The Mastergrowers and Sjaak van Schie B.V. have combined their experience and expertise in breeding company HiBreeding.
With this cooperation The Mastergrowers is present in the entire chain; from cutting to final product. This enables them to produce hydrangeas that excel in durability, sturdiness, colour and flowering.

Masterpieces of The Mastergrowers
The Mastergrowers supplies a total assortment of hydrangeas. In different pot sizes (from size 9 to 27) and price points, in various colours and special, exclusive varieties. The top range of hydrangeas consists of a series of masterpieces, also known as 'Masterpieces'.
•    Magical: a long-blooming hydrangea that stays fresh for as many as 150 days, transforming from pink or blue to dark red or dark blue during that time.
•    Love: this double-flowered hydrangea combines Dutch heritage with Japanese genetics, offering an exotic display of compact plant structure and star-shaped flowers.
•    Curly wurly: with its sturdy curly petals, was created from one wayward specimen of another variety that was further developed into a masterpiece.
•    Pure: thanks to her strong branches, Pure can effortlessly hold her beautiful flowers upright without any help.
•    Bi-colour: this classic beauty is made doubly beautiful by her stunning colour combinations, with a contrasting, colored edge to the petals.
•    Original: the most famous, high-quality hydrangeas in red, white, pink and blue

Respect for people and nature
The Mastergrowers strive for a plastic-free future by preferably packing their hydrangeas in carton boxes without trays and sleeves, saving up to 75,000 kilograms of plastic each year. They are also committed to growing highly unstaked varieties through in-house breeding, saving over 13,000 kilograms of sticks and rings annually. They are certified with MPS-ABC, MPS-GAP and MPS-SQ (Socially Qualified), which means they meet requirements in areas such as traceability, environment, plant protection products and recall procedures.
