Hydroponic

One of the coolest and most special planttrends of this moment is hydroponic. At this trend the plant grows on water instead of in soil. By presenting the plant in a glass vase, the beautiful root system is visible and the growth process of the plant can be easily followed. A great idea, because the beauty of the plant is not only in the leaves and flowers, but also in the roots! Did you know that hydroponics are also a lot more sustainable?
Easy to care for
Plants on water are real eye-catchers and easy to care for. Ideal for people without green fingers and for at the office. The only thing you have to do is to fill the vase with water once in a while. Fill it up until the roots are mostly under water. This way the plant can breathe. Plant nutrition is not necessary, because the plant grows slowly on water. It is possible that algae will occasionally grow in the water. In this case, rinse the roots of the plant and clean the vase. Then add the plant and fill it with fresh water and you can enjoy this beauty again. Hydroponic plants desire a light position, but not in direct sunlight.
Wide range hydroponic
We sell a wide arrangement of hydroponic plants, in different shapes and sizes and always up to date with the latest varieties. Potsizes who are available vary between size 5 and 17 cm. Besides one species per vase, we also sell various arrangements in glass and even with lightning! This way you can admire the beautiful root system in the evening. One of our favourites is the Philodendron Black Cardinal. This houseplant has amazing black/red leaves and red roots. This one is also available with LED lightning and makes a very special appearance in any interior. The plants are well packaged before transport so the plants are adequately protected during transport. Take a look at our full range here.
Suitable plants for hydroponics
Not all roots of houseplants are suitable for hydroponic. Plant varieties that are suitable are herbs and the sorts listed below:
Sustainability
Hydroponics are a sustainable product because no plastic containers of potting soil are used. Tip: Use rainwater, this saves tap water and reduces the formation of calcium on the glass. Rainwater is also much softer for the plant than tap water.
